Abstract

Allaeotes niger, new species, is described from China and compared with A. griseus Pascoe, 1885 from Indonesia. The relationship between the genus Allaeotes Pascoe and Synommatus Wollaston is discussed. All type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
